The golden yellow linen looks good, and as far as I can tell while wet, not streaked. But boy is it bright "golden yellow". To compare, think of McD's golden yellow arches. Yep, that bright. I hope it will lighten up a bit when it dries ( Read more... )

See the previous post on the subject, but basically from dharmatrading.com. Their chemical dyes which in some ways is easier, and some ways harder than natural dyes.

To otherwise dye the linen with natural dyes, it would have taken about 2.5-3 pds of appropriate matter, like onions skins or marigold heads, and lots of simmering over a heat source. And linen doesn't take to natural dyes as well as wool or silk does.

Someday I will get more into natural dyeing.
