Today is exactly 6 months since my Mom died. I thought I had to file her tax return by today, according to some legal sites I read earlier this year. However, the IRS changed the rules and they aren't due until next April 15th.

People who salvage old appliances gut them and sell the various components for their raw material value (like the copper in one lot, the other wires in another, etc.). What they can't sell (insulation, etc.) likely does go to a landfill.

Well, at least there is less going into the landfill, and the rest is being recycled.
