This was a delightful story. I was delighted with all the little details. And the farting rear? Was Sev channeling my son? LOL!

Squee! Thank you! LOL, the farting rear kind of came out of nowhere (not unlike some farts...), but once I'd imagined it, I knew it had to be in the story, no ifs, ands, or but(t)s about it! I'm so happy you enjoyed, thank you so much for the kind words!!

O what a clever mix of adventure, mystery, humour, technology and a hopeful ending. Hurray for Hermione, Lakshmi and their clever computer.

Squee! Thank you!! I had a great deal of fun imagining how supercomputing and neural networks might revolutionize the analytical side of magic, like arithmancy and astrology, and I knew Hermione needed a partner in making QUANDARY a reality. I'm so happy enjoyed, thank you so much for the kind words!

The set up to this story is a hoot, and I really appreciate how you've drawn not just a well-paced, complex plot, but the wider web of relationships that form Hermione's adult life. The thought behind the magical computer is brilliant, and I do love the progress that it represents for the wizarding world. And while I was expecting to find the Headmaster's Portrait in Chicago (hoo boy, does 'Sev' crack me up. I would love a one-shot that shows his uh, maturation over time) I was not expecting to find the man himself.

I loved this interaction at the end:

"Thank you," said Severus, rising and extending his hand for Hermione to shake ( ... )

Squee!!! Heh, I don't know that I could pull out a part 2 (for all that I had to cut a number of side plots in order to lower the word count), but I am very happy this left you wanting more! I'm so happy you enjoyed the addiiton of supercomputing to the wizardint world--as much as I enjoyed the first Fantastic Beasts film, it made me realize how much more interested I am in the future of the Wizarding World more than its past. It's funny, Severus's appearance in Chicago surprised me as much as it did you, at which point I swore, realized that of COURSE he was in Chicago, and then had to do a bit more rejiggering of the opening :D My original idea focused a lot more on Snape's portrait being painted with his memories mixed into the paint, and it was waaaay more angsty, so I'm extra glad Severus showed up to take the piss out of Sev a bit. I think that helped him adjust to actually having friends in addition to a private retreat. :D Thank you so much for the kind words--I'm delighted you enjoyed!!

Beautiful! I adore portrait fics, and it was a lovely surprise to discover not only a portrait but the man himself in Chicago. I really enjoyed all the world building and hints of backstory here - a series of one shots set in this universe would be VERY gratefully received if the fancy strikes you.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much! I kind of wanted to go into more detail about how portraits are painted and how Sev's is weird, but it got too long and angsty, so I'm extra-glad Severus decided to show up in Chicago and try to keep Sev from taking himself too seriously. I love portrait fics too, but I hadn't written one in over a decade, and technology made a welcome addition to exploring the portrait network and its connections outside Hogwarts. I don't know that I'll manage to write one shots in the world of this story, but I have a sneaking suspicion there will be more technology and portrait hijinx in my future writing output. Thank you so much for the kind words--I'm so happy you enjoyed!
