No, never heard of anything like that. How do you make $1300 on disability?

well to be exact I guess I get $1360. I get money under my own record and my dads record since I was working and became disabled before 21? Or whatever that rule is. I was suppose to make more I guess. But that was the limit they can give someone in Michigan. Meh....

Oh. Yeah, I forgot that disability is a lot more than SSI.

Wow! I got on disability when I was 16, and only started with $525! Now that I am 27, I still only get $674 to live on, and I am also in Michigan... What I could do with $1,300!

What they mean with the medicaid being $816 a month, is that they won't cover any bills until you reach over the $816 mark. Its not like they are going to take it out of your check or anything. I'm at 1231 a month, get $16 in food stamps, and my medicaid is is $1023 a month. Its crazy, but I haven't found any way around it. :\

Yea which.... Mathmatically doesnt even make sense to me. I was getting my insurance for free before. Ive been on disability for 8 years now. Now all of the sudden there going to take $115 out of my 1300 check. And then I have to pay $816 a month before they pay anything? Just like how am I suppose to pay rent then? Or buy food? I guess I just have to stop going to the doctor or taking meds? They also took away my food stamps. I mean even saying all this its not like it was totally free I guess I still had to pay a little over a $100 before in med stuff from co pays etc. But now its like theres just no way......

I've learned to just go without the medicaid. Most of my doctors will take just the medicare by itself. My medicare premium has always been taken out of my check... The woman I spoke to at the medicare office didn't say I had to pay the $1000+ a month, they just had to receive bills totaling that or more before they would pay anything. I know social security has a number to call on their website if you are having trouble paying your medicare premium. You might try giving them a ring?

Im just not sure how im suppose to pay all these copays, and now I have to pay for all my food as well with no food stamps. Since im basically living pay check to pay check as it is. Its basically just like well... I guess the medical system has taken me as far as it can go. I don't have the money to pay copays or anything, or the money to remove these tumors etc all that kinda BS. Guess ill just keep getting whatever prescriptions and just let it ride out. Waiting to die.. shrug..

I get less on dds and they take 226$ $out my check every month so I can get basic medicaid with a co pay on meds that don't cover all the meds that I need like provigil and 27$ in food stamps and I have stomach issues where I can't eat like breads, milk ,fried ,foods, wheat, soy and also I can't tolerate a lot of other so my diet is expensive. My meds that they pick up is over 4,000$$ a mth and I don't even look at the co pays cause 2 $$ here and 3$$ here adds up to fast.I am in New York they get you any way they can

I am in NY too. I had Medicaid before I qualified for SSD and now am in one of those ridiculous HMO Medicaid plans. Am I supposed to contact the Medicaid office and try to get them to cover my medication/figure out how much they take out of my check? The Social Security office couldn't help me with this.

My medication costs are about $1000/month. And is it true that there's a "ceiling" - that they only pay so much for medication before you have to pay out-of-pocket?

I will be getting $1300/month but my disability check JUST came and it is back-dated to December 2010 (when they decided my disability began, before I had the interview in September 2011). So it's a lot of fucking money. How do I justify having so much paid to me by disability and still get prescriptions covered?

Thanks ill check into it. And yea I was like well whats the point of even saying I have medicaid if its $816 dollars before it starts. I don't have anywhere near that in the first place after rent etc etc etc. Thanks for the number, ill look into it. From what ive read and have been looking up so far, the only thing I can see that I can do is I guess you can get "Extra Help" for perscriptions still as long as you don't make over $16,335 a year. So my medication expenses hopefully wont go up still.(of course even saying that as it is ive still had to pay over $100 a month with co pays and because not all medications have generic brands whatever bs rules they give me)...

Just seems so dum, that because im a $100 dollars over, ill my food stamps are being taken away and now I have to have this $100 taken out of my check every month, and no medicare period till 800$. Just doesn't make sense to me.
