The best part of ignorance - is that you won't know when its you.

There are rules for what you can say, what is politically correct and what words can be used by some people but not by others. Add to the complexity the countless professionals in communication with some experts who performed some scientific study that somehow proves that words only count for something like 7% of a message. Hahaha yeah I find myself trying to curb the use of the word far too frequently. It's not appropriate inan office or with children but you know it's going to slip out... When it does you just gotta go with it lol

You're right, so much of the message is body language/gestures/facial expressions/tone that the actual words don't make up a large portion of the message. That being said, I think everyone can relate to the misunderstandings that you're talking about. I know I'm guilty of those - they are usually the worst (and dumbest) fights.

As for the definitions of the commonly confused words, thank fucking god. The most depressing part of my year is when I have to teach this information to my high school juniors because they still don't get it.

:) we have all been there but not everyone can look at it and think "yeah I was a dickhead". I see people apologise over and over until the apology is meaningless and they get angry because someone won't accept it. You're supposed to accept apologies right? But if they're really sorry they should at least try and stop doing what they need to apologise for.

Sometimes spelling makes me laugh... There is just a different meaning to "I'm having homemade pee soup for dinner". Aside from autocorrect fails, spelling gets too little attention

Lol I get what you meant!!! It's hilarious when the overreaction passes and no one ever points out that the reaction was far worse, more offensive and insulting than what they might have reacted too... Even if they had reacted correctly ;p
