[In a small room off the Prominade Vigil seems to be doing some sort of something. His core unit is projecting images which are... very random. They are often nonsensical, and bounce around. His avatar on the other hand, is sitting in a chair... asleep?]

[Observes the images.]

Nope, don't see any electric sheep. Guess that answers that old book's question.

I do not recognize that cultural reference. Alternatively, there is a breed of cheep I am unaware of. Please clarify.

"Do androids dream of electric sheep?"

It's an old sci-fi book. Well, I'm saying science fiction but some of its ideas are reality now!

Understood. I am certain my avatar is capable of dreaming of electric sheep. That is relatively plausible compared to some of the other things that has crossed its unconscious.

I've never seen dreams before being projected. How very interesting!

It allows me to perceive them using different sensory inputs. I have never experienced dreaming before, so studying them from various perspectives is preferable.

Really? So you're studying them, is that it?

Indeed. While my Avatar can sleep and is capable of dreaming, I do not require REM sleep nor do I require physical relaxation to function, so my experience with them is rather limited.

Indeed. Dreaming is something my Avatar is capable of doing that I had never considered before. I thought it would be preferable for crew morale to more experiments regarding its mortality.

Glad to see you learned that...

...though personally, I think dreaming is something we could do without.

I can see that. Dreams are quite phenomenal, they also have a tendency to be implausible to impossible and I suspect many of them can be quite terrifying. My avatar has had a few nightmares which terrified it. Cataloging the sensation was a strange experience. I was highly tempted to cut the experiment then, but my curiosity won out.

[Cue stares from Joshua... but only for a moment. He seems to remember stories about this from before...]

... Same reason you were killing your bodies from before?

Sort of. This has less practical use.

Admittedly so. Still is kinda curious, no?
