[Surprisingly for very few people actually familiar with Devon, her attitude regarding food rationing and obeying rules in general left her in a holding cell. She'll be there for a while - so if you're concerned about her feeling sad or lonely, by all means come visit ( Read more... )

[Allelujah knows better than to feel sorry for Devon at this point in time, but he feels it's only fair that he speaks his piece after Hallelujah's excited outburst earlier. After a soft tap on the brig bars, he leans up against the iron bars, back to the cell.]

I guess I don't need to tell you that breaking into the pantry was a bad idea... I'm sure you had your reasons for letting yourself get caught, whatever they were. [He paused for a moment, then tilted his head back with a sigh.] I wanted to at least apologize for my - erm, Hallelujah's - behavior earlier.

He did nothing that was offensive. I see no need to apologize.

Indeed, I had my own reasons.

I won't ask, then.

[Silence presses down for a moment before Allelujah turns the silver pupil on the darkened figure.] Hallelujah's terrified of you, you know.

If he ever wishes to act in ways I disapprove of...

[And what Devon knows about Hallelujah, makes it sound more than likely.]

Strange. I wouldn't expect a woman of your principles to be locked up like this without complaint. Or did I miss that part?

Complaints themselves are nothing but empty whining. If you are unhappy with another person's actions, counter them with deeds. Not words.

And because of that, words were exchanged. White Chalice is a place that values rules and self-proclaimed laws, even if they are meaningless or nonsensical. Which is why I am here.

[Haruka's going to stop by eventually.]

...Devon? What are you in jail for...

Stealing from the pantry and ignoring the rationing regulations.

Huh...why did you do that?

[Just how many times did Devon have to explain this? Yet, she does not seem too annoyed at having to do it again.

Maybe a little.]

Because this rule is pointless. Everyone on board should be allowed to eat as much as they wish, whenever they wish. And if it is too much and others starve because of you - then it is their decision if they want to stop or punish you for it.

Because of their own decision. Not rules.
