I'm back from an amazing place called Celorico de Basto, where my parents own a house. It's not the country manor of my dreams with tennis courts and stables, but it does have a pool, which is always a plus, even for someone who isn't that fond of swimming or sun. I'm leaving again in a few hours. Got to enjoy the holidays while I can. I hope things are much calmer around here when I get back, but the more LJ/SA try to reach us, the more mistakes they make. I'm back, although not for long. I'm leaving again on the 15th, but until then I have lots of catching up to do. LJ seems to have taken a turn for the worse while I was gone. After three days of research and fun, the qaf_scavenger hunt is over. Amidst capping scenes, looking for fics and icons, and watching bits of episodes to find quotes (all in the name of research, of course), I managed to burn enough DVDs to last me for a century and to pack more clothes than I can possibly need ( Read more... )

I've tried to put my thoughts in order about this, but I guess I'm still too raw, it's still so new that I can barely fit it all together in my head. I loved some of it, disliked and hated other parts. Overall, I think the book was badly edited, and, although some ideas were very good, she failed to write them in a believable or engaging manner.
