Cally frowned at the bathroom mirror. "Why couldn't we go with wigs?" she asked, staring at her now pink-colored hair.

"Deep undercover," Nadia replied, adjusting her ponytail. "Besides, I thought you liked the pink hair."

"I liked it better when it wasn't, you know, my hair," Cally said, grumbling a bit. "So. . . how long has it been?"

Nadia stopped and stared at the mirror for a second. "Five years," she said, after a lengthy pause.

"Gosh," Cally said. "It's. . ."

"A lot less for you, I know," Nadia said. "You don't look a day older."

"Two months," Cally said. "That's it. Barely a few days over."

"I missed you," Nadia said simply. Cally looked over and smiled at her, and Nadia always fell for it. Cally's smile was infectious.

"So, Elena, you ready for our assignment?" Cally said.

"Of course, Keiko," Nadia said. "We meet. . . the other agent at Cafe Fina, after we arrive."

"And then we die of awkward," Cally said, letting out a sigh.

----

"We're on support, got it?" Weiss said, not exactly happy about his partner for this assignment. "We can't infiltrate the school, but we'll be in the town."

"Right, right," Marshall said, packing frantically. He had a lot of equipment to move. "You're working at--"

"Caritas, yeah. Because if you tried to serve drinks they'd all come with a sweat chaser. No offense," Weiss said.

"And I'm at B-Blank Tapes," Marshall said, doublechecking that he packed his inflatable chair.

"We're there to keep an eye out for any other agents and strange activity in the town." Weiss shook his head. "Parker and Jarod will be poised for extraction. We went over this in the briefing, remember?" Weiss sighed.

"Right," Marshall said. "You think I'm going to need extra socks?"

----

Walter Dornez sat, brooding.

After the Hellsing Organization had gotten into a spat with Torchwood, he'd been forced into new employment.

Working for Queen and Country was one thing. Being used as a bargaining chip in relations with the states was another thing entirely.

When he thought of where he was returning to, the memories came in flashes. Jell-O Dragons. Victor.
Alfred. The snow monsters. Nadia.

And one other.

----

"Is that all you got, little boy?" he spat, cracking his knuckles. "Ain't so tough if you can't use them wires of yours, are ya?"

Walter growled, his speed and accuracy seeming to have little effect on his opponent. It was almost
enough to crack his butler resolve.

"If it's tough you want--" Walter lashed out with a right jab, which thudded against his foe's chest, and another. He risked one more, and grunted when his arm was caught. He felt the pressure in his elbow as he was yanked forward, half spun around. Two arms wrapped around his chest, pinning his arms to his sides.

"Nice try," the opponent growled into Walter's ear. "But don't you know who I am? I'm Cain Marko, bitch."

Walter whipped his head back, cracking against Cain's nose, but the vice-like grip remained. He felt
the hands open, feeling across his chest and stomach.

"Ooh, got a bit of muscle on you, don't you?" Cain said, his lips practically touching the back of Walter's ear. The hands slipped down further. Walter shot his body down, sliding through Cain's arms, and whipped his legs around to thud against Cain's knees, knocking the support out from under him.

"We're here to spar," Walter said, standing up. He brushed himself off, scowling.

"Oh, sorry," Cain said, punching a fist against the ground and looking up at Walter. "I'm all a quiver with remorse. Maybe we should just kiss and make up."

"I'm done here," Walter said, turning to leave.

"Oh, please, walk away from me," Cain said, chuckling huskily. "That's just what I wanted."

----

"It's almost creepy how little has changed," Cally said, fiddling with the hem of the shirt she was wearing over another shirt. This whole persona thing was really bizzare for her.

"Shhh," Nadia said. "We can't slip up. We've. . . Oh Dios."

It hadn't occured to her what Blank Records would have implied. And there standing in front of the shop next to Cafe Fina was Marty Blank, turning the keys to unlock the doors and step inside. Cally blinked.

"Well, at least Marshall can keep an eye on him? He'll be able to keep Marty distracted, right?" Cally said.

"Yes. Yes he can," Nadia convinced herself quickly and grabbed Cally's arm. "Let's keep moving, shall we?" She practically dragged Cally in the front doors of Cafe Fina, and finally relaxed when they shut behind them. She looked around, but couldn't spot Alfred or Wadsworth anywhere. A lone old man was sitting at a table, his hair pulled back. Cally figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, and wandered over.

"Excuse me, have you seen Alfred around?"

The old man chuckled. "He's below, to give us privacy," he said. "It's good to see you again, Cally. And you too, Nadia."

"Oh Dios."

"Oh Frak."

Walter Dornez simply smiled the smile of a man who has seen much in some sixty-nine years of life.

To be continued!
