Keith, you're a part of the cast. You're not on tech crew this year. Your priority is making sure you have your lines & songs down. From the pit/audience, "Oh Baby" sounds great. Maybe you're just being hard on yourself. But if you feel its not good enough, focus on that before you stress yourself out over a mic chart. That's what tech crew is there to do.
yea, i know im cast. but i cant turn my back on my crew. even though im in the play im still "Head Stage Manager" of the Kenwood Tech crew. If they need my help im there for em. and o god did they need my help. Either way i got the mic transition chart finished and i am extreamly happy with the outcome. everyone has minimal transitions and its no more than 3 people on one mic throughout the whole play. except for mic 11. that has 4 people. but its gonna work out fine.
and as far as my part. im happy with what i have started. i just need to learn how not to brain fart when i go out on stage. lol. but thanks for the input.
o god did we need your help is right!! Kim and I were going crazy, being that both of us only half-know how to do the stupid mics to begin with, then ontop of that, we were being screamed at by half the stupid cast while we were trying to figure the damned chart out because they wanted and direly *needed* a mic, even the people who only speak one freakin line in an entire act...our heads were about to go *boom*. Thank you for helping us, you don't know how close we were to freaking out.
Don't worry about all of the drama. This is how the cast works, and we just have to learn to ignore it.
And about the tech crew stuff, make sure that you're more concerned with your role than with the tech crew. Because even though you're still stage manager, you're a cast member for this show, and if tech can't work something out, then that's Mr. Weber's fault, not yours. And we love you more, so tech crew can't have you :]
I love having a loud voice. The arrangement seems awesome. Especially the mic behind the bar idea because alot of people seem to talk around there. But I hate how crappy tech is this year. Ah well. At least they have you to help them out. Even though they shouldn't need you.
