This is reeeally good, Squilis! It's kind of exactly how I see this "family" dynamic going, and even though I could never exactly articulate what I thought about Matt's attitude to Molly, I was always sort of upset that I couldn't find any fic or anything that showed it the way I pictured... and then you went and did it perfectly, without even knowing!

Aw, thank you! This is pretty much how I've read the "House of M" dynamic from the beginning: Matt looks at Molly as a replacement for the family he's lost and he's jealous of Molly liking Mohinder, and Mohinder bounces between being bemused by his attitude and returning the hostility. I'm really happy to hear you liked it!!!! :0)

Thank goodness. This is what Matthinder really is! The meanspirited comments, the low blows, and stopping only because Molly enters the room. But usually people who don't ship them wouldn't bother to write it.

I also love that you made Mo the hero (obviously, because he just would be. I also liked that you gave that little explanation about Thompson telling her not to talk about her family.

This was great! Thanks for such an honest piece. And I liked the ending.

I will totally admit that I do not like Matt and that colors my attitude toward anything he does. But even so, there have been multiple times this season when I've been stunned by the hostile feeling between him and Mohinder.

This is written from Mohinder's P.O.V. (obviously) so it's definitely colored in his favor. And though it's not noble of him to want to hurt Matt, he's still hurting himself by tracking down Molly's family to tell them where she is - if he'd stay quiet, she'd still be living in New Jersey where he could see her frequently. And...man, it bothered me even back in Season 1 that the Company had her, and that Matt and Mohinder were apparently able to keep her without any fuss. I mean, I have a little nephew, and if someone killed his parents and he disappeared, I would be moving heaven and earth to find out what happened to him! Surely Molly would have relatives who'd be doing the same thing for her...

Thanks - I'm glad you liked it!

They are just so tense with each other on the show, that I think they're one crisis away from being at each other's throats. I'm glad you liked it! :0)

It's such a relief to find fic about these three that follows their canon dynamic (although Matt comes across as a tad bit more ill-intentioned than he does in the show, to me, but I think that's because this is from Mohinder's POV). It actually freaked me out a little, because I've been concerned for a long time that after the latest Sylar debacle, Matt will take Molly from Mohinder for her own safety. Mohinder isn't a US citizen, so he wouldn't be able to stop him, and since he'd also acknowledge the danger and he's the self-sacrificing sort anyway, he wouldn't try, and it would shatter him. I'm really anxious about this happening in canon. *bites fingernails* Fantastic fic.

Exactly. That's the problem with doing something really different: you feel like you should write a page of explanation of what you were thinking as notes at the beginning of the fic. This is completely colored by the fact that it's from Mohinder's P.O.V., and we know he has a temper and that he jumps to conclusions ( ... )

It's always so nice to get such a detailed comment about your thought process in writing.

This is completely colored by the fact that it's from Mohinder's P.O.V., and we know he has a temper and that he jumps to conclusions.

Oh man, I am so far gone on Mohinder, hearing stuff like "he has a temper" and "he jumps to conclusions" just makes me love him like crazy. <3

So, there's a completely domestic crisis, but it stresses both Matt and Mohinder to the point that it breaks everything open and they just can't keep on. And because of his citizenship, Matt thinks he can trump Mohinder...but he underestimates Mohinder's drive to Do The Right Thing, and his anger.Matthinder: it's like war, really. And yeah, this just seems infinitely plausible to me. Somewhere down the line, this family unit is going to break up, and it's because Matt and Mohinder don't like each other, refuse to support each other, and if one is in a dangerous situation (my mind immediately goes, of course, to a Mylar team-up), the other's reaction will be to take Molly ( ... )

Because if there was something that caused Mohinder and Sylar to work together, I could see Mohinder extracting a promise from Sylar not to harm Molly, and buy it - I can completely see Sylar agreeing to it in canon for the simple reason that he's weighed the possibilities and realized that getting Mohinder's assistance for whatever he's doing is more beneficial than braaains. And that also could be the start, in canon, of turning him away from just collecting abilities, by getting him accostomed to pursuing a goal besides braaains ( ... )

Going straight to my memories, if anyone was going to write Matt and Mohinder in fic in character I knew it would be you. Thanks for this:)
