Daphne knows a good nest when she sees one -- I was airing out the mosquito net (which I think willowr gave us, from our gift register, when E and I got married?).

Thank you for the b-day wishes! And yes, it's a great b-day present idea -- I'm still amazed by the awesomeness of it, even though I've known about it for weeks! It just won't seem real until I'm actually in the boat!!
I loved your pix from the OBX -- I'm so bummed I have no pix from WV -- I do have some lovely mental pictures I just can't post those to LJ!! ;)
Hey -- music-related questions for you -- you know that mix CD I sent you last Spring (Spring of '07)? If you still have it, could you make me a copy and mail it to me? Mine got totally mangled and is now unplayable, and I no longer have all the source CDs... Hmm, and I also lost the Dalai Lama CD you gave me (chanting for healing) -- could I get another copy of that, too??? I'll send you a check for supplies & postage! But if you don't have time, I totally understand!!! Just thought I'd try! :)

:) I can't wait for you to get in that boat, either. Mike and I really want to get kayaks someday, but we don't have anywhere to store them. Well, they could live in his parents garage - 40 minutes away, that could be better than nothing...
Glad you like the pix! That is a bummer about your phone/pix. Sometimes it's nice to take a mental journey back through those memories, though. I don't know if I'll get around to doing a complete photo re-cap, but I'm definitely going to keep posting them solo as they continue to bring me peace amid the stormy days, and bolster the good ones... I don't know if you've been reading, but I created a filter for my breast cancer journey. Just let me know if you want in, and no worries if you don't. :)
Thank you for the reminder about your mix! My cds are scattered all over the place, but I would be happy to copy it for you and send out another copy of the Dalai Llama cd, too. It may be a few days, though.

I've heard you can get great deals on 'yaks in the Fall, especially used ones from rental places that are getting rid of stock, and yes -- 40 mins away is better than nothing if you really want to get out on the water! Is there water near his parents' place?
Yeah, maybe having only mental images from WV is good b/c when I have photos I sometimes forget the other things that weren't photographed, you know?
I haven't had time to read everyone's posts lately, but yes, please add me to your breast cancer filter. But with my step-mother recently succumbing to that disease, and my still feeling a lot of anxiety about it, I may not read all of your posts on the subject... I mean, I don't want to worry about you too much but I do want to know what's going on! That balance is hard to achieve. Sigh... :(
Anyway, I'm glad you still have those 2 CDs! Whenever you get the chance, I would greatly appreciate it, but please don't stress about it! THANK YOU Sweetie!!!! :)
I'm glad you had such a great birthday. I was also mildly freaked out about turning 30, but realized when it happened that it didn't really change anything. Age roles seem much less defined these days, which is good, because I really wouldn't want to be stuck in the 30-year-old roles of the past.
Aww, Daphnie! And I'm glad you're still enjoying the mosquito net. Do the cats claw at it when it's up? I'm amazed and impressed if not; mine would have torn it to shreds in about a week!
thanks sweetie, yes, it was a great bday! I was thinking of you & my other friends who've turned 30 before me, and none of you had reported freaking out, but it's nice to hear that I'm not completely alone on that!!! and yes, when it's finally over with you realize that it doesn't really change anything. plus, you're right about the age roles shifting -- I keep noticing "30 is the new 20" and stuff like that around... and, the fact that I'm still in school helps me feel younger than I'm "supposed" to at 30, although with this term starting I realize I'm really sick of being in school
