I don't hate Shia, although I do think he is a large part of what kept Transformers from being as great as it could have been. But he's young and could possibly mature into a much greater actor.

Interesting! I have no particular nostalgic affection for Transformers, so it was John Tutorro and Shia that made the movie for me, I have to admit.

Your comment got my thinking about another Spielberg protege that I'm ALSO a big fan of, Drew Barrymore. I've been a fan from way back, but in her younger years people could have legitimately questioned her acting, but now she's a really mature actress. I see SLB in very much the same way.

PS: I was just talking about Indy 4/5 on my twitter, and I (in the grand tradition of the pilver!) coined the term SLBias 8D
