Holy crap. I was all vaguely ashamed of the fact that I was totally sold by the trailer for the new Shia LaBeouf movie, because, you know. But I just watched an even longer trailer and found out it's costarring Michelle Monaghan, who I loved in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, AND Rosario is in it and at that point I was like, whatever, now I'm really sold, ( Read more... )

Oh no, DC, you're not the only one. Allow me to point you toward a certain Batman-loving DJ for another member of the Shia haters. I too was a member of your illustrious group, until Indy 4 made me burn my membership card forever. Even still, I was ashamed, but from now forward I shall walk in the light with my head held high. Assuming Eagle Eye doesn't suck, anyway.

Personally, I've always loved him. The only thing I don't like about him is how successful he has been at his age. I hate when people who aren't me succeed!

I've been kind of afraid to see exactly just how young he is for fear of it turning into a To Catch A Predator moment. To my relief it turns out he's only a couple of years younger than I am (almost to the day, oddly enough). So I'm still old and unsuccessful but not by as much as I dreaded.

As far as loving versus hating him, if I'm really being honest I never really did hate him. He's been on my radar since his Disney days and he never really bugged me, so while I'd like to think I'm beyond it obviously at some point I decided I didn't like him just to fit in. But Holes was completely decent, and Indy sealed it, so I'm officially a fan now.

I don't hate Shia...just not really on board yet. Maybe with time...we'll see.

I've never really had an issue with him either, I thought Disturbia was decent for what it was, same with Holes. I think it's just a case of too much, too soon for some people is all. That's my take on it anyway.

I was bugged by the Disturbia hype because that was the one that really seemed to be forcing SLB down our throats pre-Indy along with the whole remake factor, but the same director who did Salton Sea did Disturbia also so now I'm more interested.

It's worth a watch, there's nothing new or spectacular there but for what it is I thought it was worth watching.

It's called Eagle Eye. Check out the trailer, it's really good! Billy Bob Thornton is in it too.
