Your experience with Czech internet sounds like our three-month-long saga with Comcast. *sigh* Maybe an American restaurant has a standing interest in treating you right but the cable / internet companies are monopolies and bastards.

Though at least here in DC there are good odds they speak the same language I do! (That was, alas, not true with Time Warner in NY.)
