I think my hashing name should be Lost Bag

Last winter, when British Airways failed to deliver to Paris the luggage of my former coworker Barry, I considered how much it would suck to lose luggage on an international flight. Because of this, I packed my two suitcases for my trip to Prague as though only one of them would arrive. Optimistic, I suppose, to think that I'd still get one, but ( Read more... )

Ugh. I HATE losing luggage. You were smart to pack like you did, even though you didn't have duplicate toiletries. :)

Hmm, I hadn't noticed, although I do feel like I'm lagging behind a few days in writing about what's happening in Prague. I'm considering just skipping over some things and coming back to them later. Otherwise I'll get like a month behind by the time I'm through!

I'm glad you got your bag back! I hope you're having a good time otherwise. And, hey, the Jolie-Pitt's are in Prague, so maybe there'll be some clan sightings!

I just heard about that Saturday night! I had no idea they were here. One of Caroline's friends said we should go to Wenceslas Square and scout them out. :)

This is exactly my girlfriend's experience in London last summer when she came to visit me while studying abroad there. They lost her one and only bag but she didn't have a contact number. They gave her a number to call and told her to call the next day. I had a cellphone and I spent 30-50 minutes on hold on two different occassions, while receiving no answer, in addition to numerous other short attempts throughout the day. I'm convinced that these are fake numbers they give out.

We were able to check the claim number on the British Airways website and were able to see when the bag arrived at the airport (3 days late for a trip that was only to last a week). We attempted to call again, but eventually just took the tube down to the airport to retrieve it- which was also a bit of an adventure.

Anyway, I sympathize with you and am glad you finally got your bag.

They probably are fake numbers. When I was at the airport and talking to the information woman, she gave me the phone number that she was dialing to get in touch with baggage claim and it was different than the number that I had been given by baggage claim. Not that it mattered--they didn't answer either one! Ugh!

I've only had lost luggage one other time and it was on a return trip, so I didn't really care about it. The airport delivered it the next day--no big deal.

Watch me turn into one of those people who tries to travel with everything in a carry-on just to keep this from happening again!
