The First Good Event of 2007 (Revisited)

Feb 26, 2007 12:59

Milo ate the stem of a spinach leaf yesterday. It was the first time he ate, without the aid of Leon or me, in nearly a week. I took it as a sign that he will get better, and Leon and I intend to pick up some softer fruits (oranges, grapes, bananas) tonight in the hopes that Milo might be reminded that eating doesn't have to hurt ( Read more... )

Getting your ipod back doesn't count as a good event? I would have kissed that ipod goodbye!

I'm glad Milo is willingly taking nourishment. :)

Oh, that's a good point. Getting my iPod back was a very big deal, and I definitely thought I'd never see it again. Man, I'm such a pessimist. Okay, that was #1 and this is #2 then. :)

I'm feeding that little fool right now. I stopped at Fred's Market and got some banana. He only took two bites, but still he does seem to be slowly improving.

Two bites without encouragement? I mean, were you holding him and shoving it in his face or did you just put it in the cage?

I put it right in front of him in the cage, but I didn't shove it in his mouth or anything.

How much would you say he ate, like, in grams? ;)

Aw, this is great! I used to have guinea pigs years ago, but not anymore, because I'm terribly allergic to them and can't breathe when they are around. I don't dare go into anyplace that sells them, for fear I'll be overwhelmed by cuteness and buy one.

I'm actually allergic to them too but we didn't realize this until after we had three of them. I must not be very allergic, though, because I didn't really start to show signs until we went from one to three. That or it was when we started giving them the proper amount of hay (we were just giving our first pig cubes of timothy hay as kind of a treat and then we learned that he should have tons of hay all the time), and sometimes I feel like I have hay fever 365 days a year, so I totally feel you on the breathing thing.
