Waaaaaaaah, I love this! I always loved that scene in the show, it was just so charged and I'm surprised something like this didn't happen. These two can be so bittersweet, and this little drabble captures so much of that. <33

Ohh D: These two just always make me so sad. I agree that bittersweet is probably the best word for it. That last bit ("without the heart to tell her that it isn’t exactly what he meant") is just perfect for these two. Lovely job!

That right there is so spot on with the guilt I think Jack was feeling after leaving her, who so badly wanted to leave, there on the island while he leaves to play house.

Yesss...I had the same reaction but loved the scene anyway because it was like chemistryx100. Now I have to write a happier fic to cleanse my palette.
