He wanted to go for it, I'm totally sure of it. But gosh he's such a bastard. He just replaced Shou with himself which I knew he was gonna but I couldn't help both being all "heck yeah!" and "aww man this is bad" at the same time.
I feel like saying "Finally, finally...DEVELOPMENT!" But it is slow development and yet... maybe this is the beginning of at least her awareness of the possiblity.

Also- as happy as this Valentine arc was and as much cool stuff that happened (Sho steps it up a notch, reappearnce of stalker-dude and Ren FINALLY registers on her radar), I am also really wanting to move on to the new arc. What is the new part Kyoko took on ages and ages ago around the time Kuu was there? What about Ren's movie part? I kinda hope the Moko story will resolve and we can look at these other questions too.
I knooow. This manga is nothing if not meticulous with pacing. ...Sometimes too much so.
And I so want more Ren backstory! I reeeeeeally wanna know about that movie gig. We did get stuff with Kyoko's new part (the Other Mean Girl) but after tensions there were resolved it kinda faded away.
But yes, moving on (with even MOAR UST) would be niiiiiice.
Yeah, the pacing is not fast. I mean, its like on its twentith volume and the ending is not in sight. On the other hand, it is as much (if not more, to me) about Kyoko's career and Kyoko's growing frienships. Because, the career, friends and love all equal, to me, her understanding herself after having lived for Sho since she was small. But still, the love plot needs to move fooooorwaaard. While still being All USTish too (preferably with both Kyoko/Ren and Kyoko/Sho. Because I like to see Sho fall in love so he will suffer too eventually.)
And, I know that her other part will be a mean girl, but I am interested to see what it is specifically, mostly because I have a pet theory that it is a Mean Girl part on the same movie that Ren is B.J. in. Which probably won't happen but... *_^ you never know.
