Name(s): Professors Rangiku, Shalice, Godot and Zaraki and everyone else who'd like to join in!
Location: Great Hall
Day: 25
Time: After Classes / Before Dinner
Rating: PG-13 now. Student precaution.
Notes: PLEASE READ THE RULES AND THE OOC NOTE AT THE END. THESE ARE IMPORTANT. (The actual log beginning post is underneath ♥)
Also - Gah! Sorry it has taken me so long to get another of these up. Apologies especially to the people I told it would be up last week - everything just got a bit hectic. I am going to try and do one of these once every 4-5 weeks, because they seem like a good opportunity for character interaction. If you think that is too frequent though, let me know - it just seems like a good chance for those kids to work off some steam. Additionally Rangiku's rules are rather more specific this time, and it is Valentine's Day themed. Whee~
Rangiku & Ken's
Dueling Club Rules!
1. Know your own limitations! If you are vulnerable to certain things it is your responsibility to either protect yourself or decide not to duel! If you lose control then you won't be able to get away from Nanao and her Exploding Flibberwart Spores - everybody is held accountable for their actions, just like in a real duel. (If you're interested in learning about specific shields and controls, please see a professor!)
2. Special supervision for elemental spells! That means water, lightning, fire, earth, or wind. These are among some of the most dangerous spells and having too many of them flying around could result in serious accidents. And I don't want to have to clean up after you lot if things get broken. If you want to use these spells in a duel with another student, then it will be with a professor or approved staff member only!
3. If you have any questions concerning practicing mental spells of any kind, please go talk to Shalice~ She can answer all your questions and we don't want anyone getting mentally damaged any more than they are already more than is inevitable at Hogwarts.
4. No bladed weapons. We have wooden replicas at the front of the room. If you want to use actual blades then see a teacher.
5. Don't do anything I wouldn't do~ Don't do anything stupid! Okay? Good!
Extra note: Sign your name on the list at the front of the Hall for credit in Ken's class, and remember: you can never duel the same person twice.
[[OOC: Remember, this is a professor monitored dueling club and as such professors will be able to jump in and out of threads in order to stop students from seriously hurting one another. If you think a duel needs to get to a certain point to be IC then talk to a professor/staff mun and arrange for them to intercede - last time we had some issues with duels progressing to extreme shows of violence when there were not professor muns around to jump in when the characters would have (As it is I am going to have Rangiku running around all over the place, so if you need someone and none of the other staff are able to help let me know.) If it is likely to do more than lightly bruise a character, then Rangiku will be chasing folk down. They just care about the welfare of their students unless they are Akabane ♥
BELLA APOLOGISES FOR TL;DR - HERE BEGINS THE LOG]]
Any students coming to today's dueling club wouldn't be able to avoid the extra touches that Rangiku had added to honour the day. An apparently endless rain of pink, red and white paper hearts floated down from the ceiling. Not a torrential downpour, or even a shower - more like leaves gradually falling from the trees in Autumn... Only more ridiculous.
Rangiku herself was sitting rather lazily on the platform at the front of the Great Hall, the piles of wooden practice weapons stacked neatly behind her by an obliging moogle. There was a small bench and a table of snacks in case the students needed refreshments, and another set up for Akabane in case any students were injured. Finally, at the side of the room, were some archery targets set up. Rangiku was planning to ask if any of the professors knew anything at all about archery, since Cupid's Arrows seemed so very appropriate for Valentine's Day, but she'd just have to see how that went.
With lazy swishes of her wand, Rangiku wove a collection of conjured daisies in a chain, while a couple of completed chains rested on the platform next to her and another on her head. She was enjoying the day - why wouldn't she? - and it was making her feel ambitious. And relaxed. Maybe she'd talk to Ashe today and her best friend would be overwhelmed by romance... unlikely, but possible, ne? Regardless, soon she'd need to stop her weaving and get down to business as students and staff alike began entering the room.
