Ashe had decided the last few moments of that day should be spent outdoors. She was tired of dealing with people and glad that a break had finally hit. No students to pester her, no more dates with Howl, no worrying about who was going to take her actions the wrong way... okay she still had to worry about those last two. Ugh. Life would never calm down and simplify again, would it ( ... )

Rangiku almost doubled over at the total shock apparent on Ashe's face. "A-Ashe," she finally forced out between laughing, "your face--"

Still chuckling, she skated over and easily transfigured the skates back into regular boots to bound off the ice. "Ashe!" With a grin, she wiped the snow off Ashe's face. "Hi!"

Suddenly, she realised that maybe hitting her best friend in the face with a snowball as the first interaction they'd had for days maybe wasn't the best idea. "Hi?" the Charms professor repeated, with an innocent looking smile.

Ashe coughed and sputtered for quite a bit. It was enough time for Rangiku to walk over and start to wipe away the snow. At her friend's touch, the Transfiguration professor started a little and shook the rest of it off, glaring at the person responsible.

"Hi, yourself!" she grumbled, elbowing Rangiku in the ribs hard. "You big meanie!"

While Rangiku was likely to get the brunt of any frustration and confusion Ashe was feeling at the moment, she had to admit that it was nice to see the blonde woman again.

"Oophf!" Rangiku's lips automatically slid into a pout and she rubbed her ribs. "Eeeeehhh, Ashe," she protested. "Clearly you're the mean one!" After a moment she fell silent though, the memories of the last few days catching up. She had left talking to Ashe way too long. Her mouth quirked up into a smile. "It's good to see you," she said lightly. "It's no fun not seeing your best friend for days."

She glanced at the ground for a moment, feelng the intensity of Ashe's gaze and the emotions bubbling underneath their interaction. Rangiku had had enough reactions of her own... she wasn't sure where to start with Ashe. The Charms professor looked at her friend.

Spotting an errant piece of snow in Ashe's hair, she reached out and carefully brushed it away. "I've missed you," she added, voice a little softer.
