WELCOME TO OUR OOC CLASS LOG!

How this will work, is that professors who wish to hold an OOC log post a thread for each year of their classes, labelled with the year and class. Then, students reply and we carry out one of our OOC logs. For examples of how our OOC logs are carried out, please go hereIf you find that events are carried out in the ( Read more... )

There's no formal warning introduction over journals. Just, surprise! You have a new very large and scary-looking teacher standing at the head of the classroom.

He'll introduce himself as Professor Dragmire and put forth some not-so-friendly rules: If you're late, instant detention, during which he'll make you write an essay of his choosing to... pass the time. And he'll grade it. It won't do anything for your grade, mind you, but if you do poorly, it'll bring it down. What a peach of a guy, yes? But seriously. He's not going to put up with your crap, students. 8|

So it looks like he gets the little twerps children and the older ones. Either way, you're all getting a nice big test on your first day with him.

It's an aptitude test so he knows ahead of time who are the idiots and who are the good students in each class. The majority of it will be showcasing your ability to cast spells that students at their age/level should be capable of casting, but there's a short written portion after all that. He'll call you all up one by one.

Meh, Rikku's had scarier teachers, and she apologizes now if the clumsiness and peppiness gets on his nerves.

In other news, she's pretty good with Transfiguration spells a sixth year should know!

Just don't give him incentive to change your mind lest he prove you wrong.

Good. Now prove it, kid. He's going to require she cast the Protean Charm on fifteen coins and then cast Duro on the master coin. If all the coins successfully turn to stone, he'll move her on to the next portion of the test.

He'll be handing back the results from your practical exams last week with the Devil Traps. Most of you did very well, and he's going to be sappy and announce he's rather proud of you all.

Today's class is a bit more relaxed. He wants to get some feedback from everyone on what they've been getting out of DADA this year-- there's been a lot of practical application of defense spells, what with how Hogwarts seems to attract danger and trauma the way ice cream truck music attracts little kids, and a lot of them will be taking their NEWTs at the end of the year.

Has everyone felt that they've been learning useful things this year? Is there any area in particular they feel Sam needs to focus on? He realizes that classes were a bit... interrupted a few weeks back when he was... sick, but he's back and wants to make sure none of the subs skimmed over anything. Heaven knows the students of Hogwarts seem to need everything they can get in their arsenals.

So. Be honest. This class and what you want out of it. Discuss.

Mulan will just stare at her paper for a bit, lost in thought. Hmm. She may or may not have some ideas forming, from last weeks exams, in regards to combination magic. Maybe if she...

Cue quietly writing things down during the discussion. Sorry, Sam - at least she's distracted by your class, kinda?

He's going to call on you, Mulan >| You seem strangely quiet in class today. Is there anything you'd like to focus on, defense magic wise, before the year is out?

Bet you never knew Xigbar actually had a classroom with desks meant for learning other than hands on training.

Yeah well, Xigbar didn't know about this either. Hence why the room is covered in a thick layer of dust on everything because he didn't have the time to clean the room.

Guess what?

You're writing a paper on why you chose the weapon you chose, if it holds any significance and what you would like to improve with that weapon.

Apparently this was mandatory at the beginning of the year before Xigbar just started throwing things at you and expecting you all to fend for yourselves. It has been sitting on this desk of this unused classroom that entire time. Right next to these safety papers you were also supposed to sign at the beginning of this year.

Mulan is genuinely surprised that he has a classroom and hasn't yet destroyed it.

Huh, this assignment seems rather late in the year... SUSPICIONS. But she's getting down to writing and rather enjoying it. She's realizing some things she hadn't really thought of much before.

Right, okay. Snow or no snow, y'all are getting taken on a little field trip. This means that you will be freezing your kiesters off in the snow and practicing. Basically, you and a partner are going to be casting spells at each other, utilizing the various Blue Magics while distracted by falling snow, freezing kiesters, Reno randomly sending magicked snowballs at you, Dab running in and out and barking, and all sorts of lovely distractions.

Anyone complains gets a glare and a sarcastic comment about how he could be an ass and replicate a real fight.

Aqua frowns a bit but, she agrees that distractions would happen when fighting and, as long as it's not dangerous, there's nothing wrong with a yappy dog and a few snowballs.

But this seems very similar to the weapon mastery professors way of teaching.

Hey, if it works, it works. Besides, it's either this, or a bunch of theoretical junk, and in the real world theories ain't gonna do anyone much good.

Besides, it's fun.

Slightly more practical class this time. He has the most recent star charts available, and you are to predict the next week or so based on the patterns you can see. And try to be accurate, as he can tell when you're making stuff up.

Any unfinished work will be homework, due at the begining of the next class.

Ataru's predictions are completely ridiculous. He sees unlikely patterns in the stars. He uses an odd mixture of Eastern and Western constellations with some key stars taken out of the picture. It looks like he's trolling, but most of his predictions will come true.

As long as he's not set himself up to die twice that week, he should be fine. Although, expect some notes, especially on the missing stars.

It was entertaining to read though.
