Other than that, however, she was one of few people he felt comfortable enough around. Perhaps it was that connection to the Force and being at the same academy.
He pulled his dark hair back as he walked slowly down to the Hufflepuff dormitories at the time she had designated, ready to start this day and be... Useful. For once. Not in the way, not bothering anyone, hurting them. The boy took a deep breath, letting those negative emotions go before continuing on.
A small smile flitted across his face as he lifted his hand up in greeting as he approached her. "Hey."

She appeared to size him up for a moment, and appearing satisfied that he would be a suitable replacement, nodded. "We'll start here, and make our way up. Since classes are still in session, there should not be many problems. The most we'll have is stragglers."
A Hufflepuff girl, a younger student, exited the dormitory as soon as Erza had spoken, clearly in a rush, and seemed to shrink under the force of the other girl's stare as she scampered off. Erza frowned and watched as she near tripped over her own feet to get to class on time.
"Usually, students know to get to their classes on time."

He remained quiet as she sized him up and gave him the plan for the day. Patrol the halls. Loom angrily over small students that seemed to be a little later than usual getting to their classes. That seemed easy enough to Zekk, although... He would leaving the looming and the angry-looking part to Erza, since she seemed to be better at it than he figured he could be.
The younger girl ran off, and his eyes slid back over to Erza, an amused grin on his face. "I can see why they put you in charge, then." Poor kid would probably never be late again.
