It was well-enough that Zekk planned on leaving the intimidation and terrorizing to Erza, who had been doing such to various individuals since she was first made a Prefect, and...even before. Suffice to say, she was an expert at terrifying people, although sometimes it was not her intent.
She looked surprised at the compliment, and then sheepish, but she did finally, smile a bit. "Thank you. I try my best to keep things in order." She coughed awkwardly, squared her shoulders. "Alright then, let's go." And with that said, Erza set off on her usual, purposeful pace.
The earlier parts of patrolling went, for the most part, without upset. A tiny first-year scampered out of the way as Erza walked past, nearly knocking into a group of girls in his rush to get away, a group of delinquent fifth years that Erza had once had issues with paled as soon as they saw her, stammering out their "hellos" and "good afternoons." It was not long though, before Erza sighted the first offense of the afternoon. Class had already begun for most people, but she stopped at one of the girls' bathrooms, and leaned in near the door to listen.
"Hm."

Still, as it was, the day was going along smoothly, and part of him was extremely grateful to just be out and doing something.
Zekk blinked as Erza stopped with her ear to a bathroom door. He glanced around them, noticing the empty halls. Right. Classes. His head tilted. "What?" Ah, sometimes there was a need to answer nature's calling, even when classes were in session.
Again, he recognized how bad of a decision this would have been to bring it up to her.

And without another word, Erza slipped inside of the bathroom, so quietly that the hinges to the door didn't even creak when she entered. There was a moment of silence, of utter and complete silence, the sort of ominous silence right before a storm breaks, before a bomb falls.
And then came the shrieking, and the sounds of a phenomenal struggle. At last, it too quieted, and Erza emerged from the bathrooms, with two terrified girls held by their collars. They looked frazzled, and were as white as sheets.
Erza, in contrast, still looked entirely composed, without a hair out of place. "As you two are aware, with this being your second offense, you are hereby assigned detention for the next two Saturdays in a row. With me."
One of the girls whimpered.
"In addition," Erza continued, without missing a beat, "Your skirts are precisely...ah, two and a half inches above regulation." There was a murmured spell, a flick of her wand, and both of the skirts changed to the proper length. "Remember this in the future. If you miss either detention, there will be..." Her eyes narrowed.
"Grievous repercussions. You are dismissed."
The two girls scampered off, and Erza sighed, shook her head, and turned to Zekk. "That was annoying. We're going to the kitchens now; I'd like cake." And without another word, she turned on her heel and began to walk. "Come along."

He straightened up, waiting for the inevitable, the smile falling off his face quickly before the Head Girl came back out of the bathroom after the scuffle he heard with in, eyes widening slightly as he shuffled. Well, this was awkward.
"Ah..." He watched the girls run off, brows furrowed slightly. He could feel the terror rolling off of them, and he could only begin to imagine exactly what had gone on inside of that bathroom.
"Cake?" Zekk moved automatically, falling back into step with her without falter. This had been an interesting day so far... "What kind of cake?"

"Strawberry cake," she replied, glancing over to him. "Unless you'd prefer another sort. That's the kind I always get, however. That, or cheesecake." Her expression softened at the thought. To anyone else, it would look as if she was talking about a lost lover, or something similar. Erza, however, took her cake very seriously. It wasn't long before they made it to the kitchens, and the moogles all greeted her in unison.
"Hello, Miss Erza!" Curiously enough, the moogles (unlike most other people) didn't seem to be utterly terrified of her.

"Strawberry cake sounds fine," he said. Growing up, he'd never really gotten the opportunity for a lot of sweets and never grew a taste for them. One cake was as good as another, though he felt it best to not say that to Erza, catching the expression on her face. Definitely not a good idea.
"They must really like you." Zekk looked around at the tiny moogles before smiling at his friend.

"I suppose." She returned her attention to the moogles clamoring around the kitchen. "It's because I respect them." She scoffed. "Some people here treat them dismissively, or worse." She paused, and sighed. Her voice was soft. "I don't think it's good to treat anything as a servant, but they seem happy enough."
She looked lost in thought for a while after that. "Even so, it makes me...uncomfortable. So I try to be kind."

"It's not right for anyone to treat another like that..." He paused, coughing gently. "They do a service for us that they don't need to. They deserve our respect."
He rubbed his neck a bit, feeling slightly awkward--not that it was a new feeling for him, in any case. "You could... do little things for them. As a sort of payment, if it makes you that uncomfortable."

"You're right," she said to Zekk, and nodded, as if to confirm this. "I've tried to pay in money, but they don't seem to take to that well." She hummed under her breath, tapped a finger to her chin. "I could try Kupo nuts...do you think that would be suitable? It seems so small." What she really wanted was to give them proper payment -- after all, they were providing a service. "There had been a club for this sort of thing, when Brighton was still here."
