WELCOME TO OUR OOC CLASS LOG!

How this will work, is that professors who wish to hold an OOC log post a thread for each year of their classes, labeled with the year and class. Then, students reply and we carry out one of our OOC logs. For examples of how our OOC logs are carried out, please go hereIf you find that events are carried out in the ( Read more... )

Grell's feeling particular malicious today. He was rather shaken by the last week and is annoyed at the lack of students in his 3rd/4th year class.

He wants to know who is serious in coming and who isn't. He's combined all the classes, though you are free to start your own groups and stick with your own years if you're in over your head.

Out on a long table is an arrangement of kimonos and make up. Yes, gentlemen, you'll be putting them on too. Acting in its finest form is a risk. He'll explain that eagaredly and without hesitation. Whether it's putting on a performance for just yourself, the audience, or the world, you must be able to take that risk.

He has several chinese and japanse plays out, such as Secret Love for the Peach Blossom Spring, a sorrowful delight of comedy and tragedy or simple things such as Mulan, a more delicious action on broadway ( ... )

Sulu will be in the corner, line-facing at the world. And anyone who remarks about how good he is at putting on the kimono and make-up is going to get hexed, he swears to god.

Shar might not say anything about it now, but hell, she definitely noticed. Sulu, you may be contacted at some point. ♥

Xigbar is admittedly gonna be a bastard for this class. First, you'll be divided up by weapon class (spears with spears, swords with swords, etc etc) and he will plop down these giant text books on techniques for each type of weapon. He wants you to read over these different moves and talk to each other on techniques you’ve used in the past. Demonstrate to each other your stance, tricks, etc despite how boring and monotonous this may seem.

The lesson; figure out what’s best for you but also know about other techniques so you can learn how to beat em but, he ain't gonna tell you that's the lesson.

He’ll be munching on some peanuts while you all chat with each other.

Right when class starts, you kids are gonna pair up. One to go on the long range course and one for short range.

Long range students, you’re going first to the typical target range set up. One side is where you stand, the other side is the bullseyes where you shoot. The short range are gonna give you a hand to strap your angles to the ceiling. Yes. You heard right, long range folks. You’re gonna be practicing to shoot upside down! Just to get you adjusted to any possible setting.

Once they’re strapped in, short range moves onto another field. This one is a large rugged terrain with high walls and stairs to climb and with a bunch of barrels everywhere. You’re gonna be fighting each other but, here’s the catch. You’re weapon is not allowed to make contact with another person. So how do you determine a winner. Figure it out yourself. This is to teach you to think on your feet and use your surroundings. (plus there's a catch but, you won't know it till one of you breaks one of those barrels)

Sulu takes one look at those harnesses and decides to scoot over to the short range group. And kind of...look baffled at this set up. How the hell does he even win?

You'll just be accompanying Professor Solo out onto the lawn to observe the Falcon from afar. By afar, that means you stand at least ten feet away. Anyone who gets closer gets detention, period. The entire class is comprised of Han tinkering with his plane, and narrating what he's doing at the top of his lungs. Take notes, he'll be quizzing you this next class.

Get out those notebooks, class. Han's kicked back in his chair, boots on the desk, and he'll be lecturing on the usefulness of blasters versus wands. And by lecturing, it means he's telling you stories of his smuggling days and all the times his trusty blaster came in handy.

Yes, this will all be on your final. Pay attention, kids.

Don't mind him; he is taking notes and all, because he's a good student, he just... doesn't get how any of this is relevant.

Professor Yun's in a poor mood, looks a little frazzled. No jokes today, kiddos. And no calling her "Fang." Pay attention and try not to injure yourselves, alright?

Guess who's studying today? You won't be fighting, yet, but you'll be learning a hell of a lot about the Lichtenaeur form of swordsmanship today. She'll be walking around, quizzing you as she goes.

Don't think about slacking off -- you'll be putting all of this boring, dry reading into practice the next class.

Medieval sword practice. She's combined this class today.

You'll be split into groups of two and handed practice swords -- nothing that'll give you lot cause to kill each other. Mostly made of foam and wood. You'll be wearing the proper equipment too, and the proper way. Whoever isn't in gear by the time class starts is losing points.

You'll be dealing mostly in wandless disarming. Mind you, this means you're going to need some finesse. In the old days, knights were taught self-defense tactics -- it wasn't just flinging a sword around and hoping for the best. She's already drilled you on this for the last class. Most of you should be prepared.

Chao really didn't want to come to any of her classes, but who can pass up playing with swords!?

Unfortunately, while Chao is good at martial arts and making enchantments she's....not that great at weapon fighting. Even WITH the previous lesson last class.

At least she can fasten her equipment fast enough.

Whoever's her opponent is going to get very easy wins.

YEAR SIX: MENTAL MAGIC sisterpsyche April 19 2010, 21:03:23 UTC
In light of recent events, Shalice wants to really work on mental defenses. This is something that will save your life and your sanity in many instances.

There are three mind shields she wants you to learn, these are:

Protego Mentis - Good for shielding other people; provides moderate protection when used on the self.

Protego Animus - Quick, powerful shield. Useful in combat situations.

Protego Sententia - This shield is difficult to master, but once it is, the user may anchor it to a thought or memory, and keep it up nearly constantly. It is this spell that gave Shalice immunity from the boggarts.

She shows you the proper wand movements and correct pronunciation. You will spend this class practicing all three, beginning with Protego Mentis. Once you can perform it adequately, you may move on to the next, and the next after that.

Oh, yay. Mind shields. Catty's glad that this is the lesson because for a moment during the boggart, she really doubted her ability to even cast the spell.

She performs Protego Mentis pretty well on her first try.

Good work! Shalice gives Catty 5 points. She knows the whole boggart deal was stressful for everyone involved, and maybe feels a little responsible for not having taught this stuff in depth sooner. :c

Now try the next one.
