Corsets are a pain

Jun 21, 2010 15:47

Worked on my corset for the elizabethan challenge. Corsets (under pair of bodies) are a pain in the butt to do. ugh.

Tired. Didn't sleep last night.

Busy. Working. Planning. Looking at June 2011. Excited. Lots to do in the meantime. Lots to figure out.

I find it kind of amusing that your post about making corsets showed up on my friends page right above someone else's who needs to sell some...

I believe I used cable ties. The boning's in, just have to finish things up and I don't have money to do that right now.

Tucson. And now hoping for March 2011 instead of June. Have to start shopping around and comparing prices/packages. Ugh.

Yes. Yes, they are. You may notice I don't wear them a whole hell of a lot.

Wedding! Bill and I had a June wedding at the Botanical gardens. It was pretty awesome.

lol yeah, but with this challenge I needed to make one. Am doing late period Elizabethan, circa 1580's I think. Making Rabbit a matching doublet and venetian breeches too, hopefully in blue cotton velveteen. It's gonna be pretty.

Did you really? Kevin doesn't want to do the Botanical Garden, but that sure sounds like fun to me.

And I presume you mean the whole kit and caboodle? Bodies, farthingale, bum roll, gown? I love challenges, and can't wait to see what you do with it. (PS, I dare you to do the proper pot-belly padding on Rabbit's doublet).

Something mutually agreeable is best of course. I wanted a garden wedding, they were affordable, fit the number of folks on the guest list, and it was very pretty. A fun venue, but there are many in Tucson. Happy hunting!
