Tell me if you've experienced this. Writing a Mekton Zeta scenario for the Freedom! game setting. The scenario is set in Ottawa in the year 2374. The city has been perfectly preserved by the invading "Leaders" since it was abandoned in 2260. I was studying my 2010 street map to work out where the barriers are positioned, and have only now just ( Read more... )

I think I'm going to have it rebuilt into a river/Provincial boarder spanning metropolis before the invasion.

Mekton Zeta?
Awesome. :)
I remember trying to split up the Earth into new nations. That took work.

Also, did you ever notice where Reflex Point (and Macross City) are in the Robotech games? It touched down in Calgary, Alberta. That was.. pretty amazing. I'm wondering if that's canon in the Robotech universe, or was it something specifically chosen by Palladium.

Actually, Reflex Point was laid out over the Great Lakes.

Really? Huh, I'm going to need to look at it again, because I was sure Macross City (Where the SDF-1 went down) was in Calgary, and the Invid took over that area when they showed up.

Damn, time to hit the books!

Maybe in the books, but the graphics in the movie clearly show it over the Great Lakes. Reflex Point

Abandoned in 2260?

When I think of the speculative history and geography that you're going to have to invent for such a thing...?

E-mail me about this later, okay? I've got a thing in the works you might want to be in on.

Basically the game takes place over a century after Earth was conquered.

In 2260 0ver the course of three days the Earth was invaded and conquered by an unknown technologically superior force. - Freedom! pg. 4.

Earth's major cities have either been destroyed or forcibly emptied, and we're mostly living in agrarian fiefdoms.

Because they forcibly emptied the major cities of the world, and now controlled them with complex energy barrier and automated mechanical barricade systems, - Freedom! pg. 4.

Part of my Hackett Continuum campaign plan (WW3 as in the novels The Third World War: August 1985 and Team Yankee) was centered around an invasion of Belize and the northern area of Honduras by Guatemala, with help from DPRK "volunteers".

I thought of using Google Earth and/or WorldWind to plan out the terrain, but I hadn't gotten far enough on learning how to adequately use the programs yet.

Haven't gotten enough interest in the project (i.e., other players) to commit to it as of now.
