I just had a three-day weekend, which I really needed because I've been on the go for the last four weeks... working my day job of course, and then doing my photography or visiting friends on the weekends. I was in Canmore to see Carly the last weekend in June, photographed the equestrian portion of the Southern Alberta Summer Games on July 4-5, ( Read more... )

You'll be fine here, our two countries are VERY alike, I've been told. You'll slot right in, don't worry. I'll take care of you and haul your as out of the hot water if you get in any... which you won't :P I'll give you some NZ orientation when you get here, and you can meet up with Craig and Marion if you like. They're Kiwi's and will set you on the right path :-D

Hehe, yeah, I think I'll be OK but I really appreciate you being my "home base"! :) I just got back from my "orientation" and things are slowly coming together!

I've been working for five years straight... I figure I deserve a break! And you certainly will too, after what, six years of school/work?

I have to get the Taber pics online first... chronological order, my dear! Just a few more days. :)

What, you and Morgan are married now?! Maybe I would know this if you posted to your journal once in awhile, Amie. :p

I've heard it's amazing, though, and one person even said they loved it so much they thought they must have been born in the wrong country. :D

Well that's quite the news! And for a few months - wow!

My sister attended Griffith University in Brisbane for her Masters of Education in 2004 - two of her/our friends and I went down to visit her for 4 weeks in June/July of '04. I journalled some of the trip, but never got around to LJing it. If you think they might be of any interest to you, you're welcome to check out my pictures from our trip, as well as hers from living there, at http://www.heatherann.smugmug.com/Travel

I think they all have captions. Jen, Anitra and I flew into Sydney and toured the city and the surrounding areas (Katoomba/The Blue Mountains, which were amaaaazing) for a few days before flying up to Brisbane to meet Jo. The four of us then flew up to Cairns and traveled down the eastern coast, with notable stops at Airlie Beach (the Whitsunday Islands/Whitehaven Beach are a MUST), and Fraser Island. It was an amazing trip :) I hope you have fun!!

Sweet, thanks! I will add the link to my bookmarks of things to look at when I have time... i.e., at the end of August, when I am finished work! lol. :p Most of my trip planning is going to be done in September.

And my god, Whitehaven is gorgeous! Definitely adding that to my to-do list now. :D
