Flash flood!

So yesterday, Canada Day, there was a flash flood here... 45mm (almost 2 inches) of rain in about an hour and a half. A local state of emergency was declared, the Canada Day festivities (including fireworks) were canceled, roads and parks were closed, and we weren't supposed to use any water to reduce the strain on the already backed up drains.

Nope, even the canceled fireworks can't be rescheduled because the company can't come back into town!

And here we are in southern California with yet another wildfire. Only this one actually has personal significance because I had to evacuate my horse who was in the danger zone.

Hehe, well I didn't dispute that! The weird thing was that Environment Canada had no warning of this one... just BAM. I guess that's why they call it a "flash" flood.
