Work schedule change?

Have any of you requested a reduction in hours at your job before or a drastic work schedule change? A lot of people I work with work altered schedules or telecommute one day a week. But I am considering requesting from my boss to drop to 32 hours a week so I can start working with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) I used to work with them

Yikes, that is tough. I think you should at least tell your boss why you want the reduction in hours. But as for why you want to work as a child advocate, that is no one's business but your own. Maybe just say that your reasons are your own, and they are personal

I would just ask and if they push I work state personal/family reasons.

No advice because I've never been in that position but I had to pop in to say I will support you so long as you don't become one of those pushy, annoying CASAs who thinks they know all about SPED law but really doesn't know anything about it. ;)
