Warning: This rant is decidedly anti-mpreg and anti-Kurtofsky. So if that applies to you, you probably won't like what I have tos ay.

I LOVE COUNTER TENORS.

Especially when they are Philippe Jaroussky.

(sorry, off-topic, but I don't often get to hear anyone on my f-page mention counter-tenors!)

your icon? MADE OF WIN! I accompanied a counter-tenor last year and I absolutely loved it coz he'd sing female songs as easily as male songs, and he was just awesome. That term is only pretty much known amongst music-nerds, but I felt the need to make a distinction between soprano and counter-tenors...because sopranos? A dime a dozen. Counter-tenors? Not so much. Which is why they are awesome.

Well they do call Philippe Jaroussky a "sopranist counter tenor" because he does have a true soprano range -- but that still doesn't make him a soprano! I could listen to him ALL DAY -- he sounds way better than sopranos any day. And this is coming from someone who IS a soprano! ;)

I have a love-hate relationship with this fandom. Kinda like the show itself. *grin*

Karofsky is a bully. Pure and simple. If you think that bullying is a good foundation for a healthy relationship, I worry about you.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. I think people on the internet need their porn so bad, they either overlook the obvious or they don't care, both of which really worry me. But I still remember that Harry Potter fic I read where Draco raped Ginny - and she liked it. It was supposed to be "aww!" inducing. *Shudders*

But to be perfectly honest, society okays this sort of thing all the time beyond the internet. Think of what we're told as little girls - "Johnny's making fun of you because he likes you." I think a lot of people are almost incapable of separating being madly in love with someone and wanting to be satisfied by them, even if it - or especially if it - involves causing them pain.

As it happens, I do think Karofsky harbors sexual feelings for Kurt. That doesn't make it okay. There's a difference between being intensely in love with another person and having sexually-driven urges to hurt them. I ( ... )

Yeah, the same was said for Draco/Harry...and I admit, I was/am a Draco/Harry shipper, but I preferred fics where Draco kind of had a change of heart. But yeah, the whole abusive relationship thing happens quite a bit in fandom. And it was canon in Twilight.
