Holy shit. That was intense. Skillfully rendered and utterly gorgeous. My favourite passage;

His mind is a savanna, where white light rains down on her and soaks her ebony skin with warmth, the colours of the plains gripping her senses, wild drums pounding in her ears. A song, one she has heard before but cannot place, thrums through her veins, a voice so gentle, so passionate as he hums it on the wind. A flash, and her peace is destroyed, pierced by the cries of the millions, followed by angry, violent words in the tongue of an ancient, proud people now on the brink of extinction. His words, in a voice she barely recognizes through the thick of its emotion.

Definitely not fluff. It wrought a far more forceful emotional response on this reader. Thank you very much for writing it.

Wooooosh, glad someone liked that. <3 Personally I was scared it was too choppy, but then again it was kind of supposed to be since it was just a jumbled mix of images and emotions to him as well.

As much as I enjoy fics where they're together, happy and dealing with the mundane things - it's this kind of exploration of the fact that they're of different species and different cultures and of course, it will take a tremendous amount of work - that really hook me.
