Jul 30, 2009 19:35

Spock arrives early to the arranged meeting at the brig, hoping to have a moment to converse with Ambassador Sarek before interviewing the prisoner. He has co-opted a nearby ready-room and is sitting in quiet meditation, attempting to reconcile his apprehension of the mirror Pike's apparent psychic powers. He silently hopes that his and Sarek's ( Read more... )

Pike enters and takes a seat at the table, tense, looking worriedly at Ambassador Spock. Spock's eyes are closed and his body is utterly still - meditation, no doubt, but judging by the crease between his brows, it looks like it's not exactly bringing him the inner serenity it should be.

::Steps into the room, light meditation robes sweeping as enters and metal doors slide close with hiss::

Good day Admiral, Ambassador.

::Takes seat opposite of Pike, steepling fingers together and furrowing brows, worry of both upcoming event and of other, more personal matters both swirling in mind::

::Appears distracted::

Ambassador Spock's eyelids open slowly, deliberately. He looks around, seemingly unsurprised by the presence of the other men in the chamber ( ... )

::Looks up at Ambassador Spock's words, divesting mind of all other outside influence to pay full attention to situation at hand::

::Nods in understanding as hears rest of statements::

::At last question, clears throat slightly::

It is a concern of mine that we treat this man with indignity. They are maliciously inclined, but not evil. If we were to align ourselves in the mutual prospect of returning him home, I believe that it would be beneficial to the both of us. This, 'mirror universe' is not something that should be considered 'bad'. It is after-all the functioning of such that allows all time-lines to achieve balance.

However...we cannot ignore the harm that he has caused to Spock, nor can we ignore his inclination to repeat such actions. Safety of all parties involved should be our utmost priority.

::Nods again, finished with speaking.::

::Folds hands over lap and looks to Admiral and Ambassador, awaiting opinions::

Spock's brows furrow as he listens to the Ambassador's concerns. When the Ambassador nods, Spock considers, then, "I do not wish to debate the philosophical theories of Good versus Evil with you Ambassador, at least not at this juncture. Your concerns are valid, and we should not discount this being's value. My concern is that we not allow ourselves to be lulled into a sense of complacency which he will then take advantage of. Simply put, we should keep our guard up at all times while we are in his presence, as we do not know what his goals or motives are.

"That said, if there are any preparations you wish to make before we commence this interview, I suggest that you make them now."
