This is such a great cause, and I struggled with what I could do to help. I'm afraid I'm in a rough spot financially, as many of you reading this might also be. So I again wondered, for those of us who haven't the time (or maybe skill) to write, or the money to donate, what we could do...

Here's a thought; offer beta services to those writers that are offering fic. There are lots of folks out there offering to write and along with big bangs, there will be a real need for beta readers, hand-holders, cheerleaders, sounding boards, just someone to stand in the trenches with your favorite writers as they pour out their time into making something credible for this worthy cause.

If you can't give of your money, give your time. Offer to beta.

Just a suggestion.

this is a great suggestion and beta's can be hard to come by at big bang time. I saw girl on my flist today had offered help in filling out their tax returns. So it doesn't have to be contained just to fandom.

For Sweet Chairty people also offered knitted and embroidered garments which went down well

At present my muse has gone, but I'm offering to do Tarot readings (been doing them since 1981), so it can be anything.
