Rain Falling Down and Coming Down on a Sunny Day Two separate verses, link is too a master post of both stories. Summary: Castiel goes back in time to stop the Apocalypse. Things go wrong. Things go VERY wrong.

Both stories are absolutely amazing, two of my favorite stories. Maychorian has a ton of Gen fics, and her writing is really good, focusing on the relationships between the characters.
I have to second The Way Back... I re-read it whenever I see it recommended... It hits all the right spots for me... So we'll written, constructed and characterized... Off to read again 😁

strangenessandcharm has some good fics as well, though they tend to be shorter. Their gen h/c stories include Some Guys Have All the Luck, It's a Hard-Knock Life, The Envy of Angels, The Boy with Kaleidoscope Eyes, and the Superheroes verse.
I also second gilesbabe's recommendation of galaxysoup's Hail Mary, and add their stunning story Redemption Arc.
