Roundtable Themes: wee!Winchesters (or Harvelles or...)

Aug 22, 2007 12:48

We've only seen Dean and Sam as children twice (I think, or am I missing any flashbacks?) but I know I love to read more about them. And John too, from those brave authors who are willing to step back further and piece together what his childhood might have been like. And how about Jo or Andy or Ash, or any other characters - what might their childhood have been like? We'd love to hear your favourite stories/artwork/comic strips, the funny, the angsty, the bittersweet.

I'll start us off with a handful of recs, all gen.

gallis tree blues by traveller [young John, John's father, OCs, Dean, Sam, PG-13, 1,703 words]
Set in the past and present, this story made me hurt, in that deep way in the gut that only the best fiction can manage. Flawless writing, words that feel right.

Bitter Pills by eloise_bright [wee!Dean, wee!Sam, John, PG-13, 2,600 words]
One of those stories that could so easily be canon. Sam is sick, Dean cares for him.

Summer of '93 by a_fallen_sister [young!Dean, young!Sam, artwork, G]
Adorable painting of 14 year old Dean and 10 year old Sam, that looks exactly as I'd imagine them at that age. And as a bonus, a story to go with the artwork.

And now for your recs, please!

(The small print: pairings, if any, and ratings are very helpful, self-recs we don't go for though. Thanks!)
