Wow. Love the ease and confidence and humor you gave Jess, the little quirks, but your Sam is a thing of beauty. It's always interesting to see him on his own - makes you realize that he survived that way for awhile, that he was living, instead of waiting for his life to catch up with him. Pieces like this almost make it a shame that it finally did. Lovely and lyrical.

Anyway, thank you! I do love me some Stanford-era Sam, imagining him as this mostly-normal guy, just living his life and loving his girl, even if it's always bittersweet in the end.
