This post is for anyone taking part in Summergen who is willing to act as a beta reader and/or needs one.

If you're available to beta, please comment and briefly state the kind of things you can do e.g. English/grammar/spelling, particular character voices, Ameripick etc. and how writers can get in touch with you ( Read more... )

Thanks so much, I've never had a beta reader before although I have posted several fics! I tend to use too many words so if you see any scenes that are too long or irrelevant I'd love it if you let me know. I'm careful with spelling and grammar but mistakes happen! If it's okay with you shall I send you what I've got so far later today? Thanks again.

I can do pretty much anything - grammar, voices, plot consistency... Not uber-well versed in canon, but I've watched most eps twice so I can get by okay but might miss tiny details that a more rabid fan would have committed to memory. :)

For turnaround time, it really depends on what's going on. But I always give realistic estimates when you contact me and understand that if a few days is too long, you can look for someone else. also, I live in Ireland, so that's +5 US East Coast and +8 US West Coast. If you send something to me after work your time, chances are I won't see it until I get up in the morning.

I use a Mac, but can export to Word format and seem to be able to read most Word-related formats, although docx sometimes does wonky things with italics and other typographical conventions.

I'm not writing for summergen, but I'll be happy to beta.

I can do grammar/spelling easily, I'm pretty good with character voices, and I can Ameripick. I can also help with plot/characterization if needed. I'm best with the boys, but I can handle any of the characters.

My turnaround time generally depends on the size of the story, but a week is normally the longest I take, unless it's more then 10,000 words. If something happens in my life that means it'll take longer, I'll let you know.

Usually a fairly quick turnaround - couple of days at most - although it does depend on length.
