I love this, and I totally believe this is how it happenned; I couldn't bear the thought that the samulet was lost forever!

I like how they're leaving it up to us to decide what happened with it - I want to believe that Sam retrieved it, no matter how tricky it would have been to have kept it a secret from Dean and not to have lost it again with all the events that came after.
