[He's still new here, hasn't spent a lot of time at home because he's been busy poking his nose into everything ever, but he gets a little distracted from his investigating to observe:]

Whoa! That guy almost walked right in to you. Do they do that a lot?

Oh-- [she turns to look at the local briefly, before smiling at him.] Sometimes. The locals here don't tend to pay us any mind, most of the time.

[Oh! Smiling! He smiles back her brightly.]

Yeah, Bambs told me I should just ignore 'em if they're gonna ignore me, but I don't get it. It's like... do they even see you?

I'm sure they do. ... Though it can be a little hard to tell sometimes, I suppose.

They are fools, clearly.

I'm sure they're just upset that we've come into their home. [the goal here is not to make more people lineface at the locals] But they are making things more difficult than they need to be.

[border_phantasm]

If they weren't fools, they would let us try and help them get us home.

[She will keep line-facing at the locals until they start changing their attitude]

There must be some way to get them to communicate with us. Like through writing, maybe, like they do.

I don't get it, either... I'm sure most of us don't mean any harm.

[arranges]

That's what I thought, as well. [she sighs a little] I'd hoped that things would change at the ball, but....

It didn't change at all, huh? I'd almost say this place isn't all that bad if it weren't for the rather unwelcoming crowd.

... I suppose it could be worse. I just wish I knew why they seem to dislike us so much.

It almost feels like it should be longer.

I didn't, either. [she sighs a little] Though I can't honestly say I'm surprised.

I'm beginning to wonder if they can see us at all. It feels as though they barrel on past us like we literally aren't even there, as opposed to simply ignoring us.

They must at least know that we're here, though, if they've been leaving messages for us.

I wonder what reason they have for treating us this way? For all their hostility towards us, it still seems unlikely that such a large number of people would be this unreasonable just because we are intruding on their home.

I wonder that sometimes, too. I'm sure they have some reason, but there isn't very much we can do to fix things if we don't know what it is.
