the stuff of monsters; action

['responsibility,' huh? sure. who wouldn't want to learn more about their exploits under the influence of a bloodthirsty spirit monster? heh...

nah, this isn't something he's excited to do, but he will be master of his own actions and consequences. with the babble about shoddy wishes (and the itchy, growing stubble on only one half of his face), ( Read more... )

[It must be Rachel's job to ruin lives or something because once she spots him during her own walk, she makes sure to float on over and talk to him.]

Well well, if it isn't Splendor's very own murderous monster.

[floating is such a wrong sign...yet the Alex that would sneer and mock had been readily (and justly) beaten into the dirt not too long ago, so...y'know.

hard lessons. not a fan of pain. not a fan of swallowing his own medicine, mind, but he's a big fan of living, too.

so those scummy, monster insults will just have to sit on the backburner. his smile twitches and his nose crinkles just slightly, taking the jab as gracefully as he can. it was not murder.]

The, eh...vocabulary is still in debate.

Is it now? Then tell me, what else would you call someone who purposefully goes out to slaughter innocents in a city where such actions should be banned?

That sounds...situational. [his mouth tugs a moment, but he gets that under control.] I would need to see it, I think.

But it is not my opinion that is relevant here, is it?

[good, he thinks, already sick of the foul-shelling strangers he'd noted on his way. the city mocks him, he believes. baits him.

well, he will not oblige. no hunt, not right now.]

[ Much as he hungers for revenge, Firo was neither expecting nor hoping to run into Alex again. He slips into a defensive stance and hangs back a few paces away. Truth is, he's a little scared of getting killed again and isn't as eager for a confrontation as he thought he'd be. ]

What the hell are you doin' here?

Walking.

[that's no lie. or--well, he shrugs; he had stopped at the sight of such a stance.] I was, rather. Hello.

[the courtesy feels fake, even in attempt, but what the hell else is he gonna do? he smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. he tries not to breathe in so deeply, be offended by the oddness that lingered in his nostrils in this one's presence...

he doesn't know him. but obviously, he himself is known. as expected.]

[ Surprise flickers across Firo's face, the relatively normal answer isn't what he expected. He still doesn't relax yet; he suspects the civility is some sort of ruse. What else could it be? ]

I thought somebody woulda' stuck you in the ground for good by now. Just how many people did you kill?

[he shifts his weight slightly to one foot, scraping the ground with the ball of his other. an idle move; standing still is hard in a situation like this.]

No. Not yet. [his mouth twitches a smirk for a second before slipping back to neutrality and silence. how many? trick question.]

I have not been told a number.

[Ansem is very careful in how he moves, has been ever since awakening in control of Riku's body.

He still is, even though his senses tell him that that damnable King had disappeared from this world and therefore was no longer a factor to his plans. Right now, he can do as he pleases after all, ironically enough all thanks to Riku.

Still, when he sees the man responsible for creating this chance for him in first place, he can't help leaving the shadows to confront him.

There is a thanks to given and who knows... this man still might be quite useful.]

[the scent of darker things is distinctive, but so muddled within the natural mess of Splendor on Alex's senses. magic is just...wrong in his upbringing. and he's not a fan of being caught unawares.

it's not the smell but the motion that halts his pace, feet planted, body twisting from the waist up to the sight of it, eyes half-lidded and smile wan and loveless.

what new foul thing comes to torment him now? he sure is excited to get in another catty fight.......not really.]

[It is not that Ansem is trying to hide his nature, his darkness, and it isn't that he can quite in a place like this, when there is much Light in the air around him. But there are tricks to conceal oneself, to make one seem less threatening and important, soothing, sweet darkness always whispering, hiding, taking care of its own despite all the spite things it was accused of doing.

He floats in the air, not approaching, but not backing of either when subjected to that look - head crooking ever so slightly as if questioning if there was anything wrong.]

[his nose crinkles on one side with a sniff. the familiarity is there, that thing he'd stalked days ago. killed days sooner.

ugh. can nothing stay dead?]

Are you here to gloat, then?
