[The sun has just barely begun to rise on the city of Splendor, but Jast is already up, making his way down to the beach. A tall teenage boy in frayed clothes that hang too large on his body, his dark hair is messy and obviously hasn't been brushed, but he is all smiles as he walks along the beach in his bare feet. [Milen gets both daring and distracted sometimes, swimming further and further away from the coast until Splendor decides he's gone far enough and currents make sure he finds his way back to the sand. He makes no struggle or protest, swimming with the flow, admiring the creatures and the architecture of underwater life.

He only remembers the necessity to return to the surface for a breather between very long intervals, and barely notices the number of fish grouping up around the boy's legs when his head pops out of the water, shutting his eyes tightly to swipe the water from his eyes and forehead.]

Jast? [He's fully aware now, smiling up at him.] Jast! Hi.

[Jast certainly has no opinions on how long Milen may or may not spend adrift in the water. It is good for sea things to be at home in the sea. It makes them happy.

Jast smiles back at the head that's popped up out of the water.]

Milen. [He gives a happy, twittering little laugh.] Good morning, yes.

[He sets his feet on the sand, arms still swaying underwater as he finally stands. He idly checks if his necklace is in place, looking at the bird and the fish.]

How are you?

[Jast smiles fondly, looking back down at the little fish circling his ankles. They don't seem to mind Milen too much.]

Visiting. [He gives the little songbird on his shoulder a stroke so it knows he has not forgotten it.] Always... hmm, stories to tell.

[He laughs again. Fish always had the silliest little tales to tale. Chattery creatures, and he was happy to listen to them.]

[He nods softly. The creatures of the Sea might not mind his presence, but he was never granted the ability to understand their language. Perhaps as a way to avoid distracting him from the human world even further.]

Do you like Splendor so far?

[Oh, Jast just beams at him.]

Yes. [He gives a happy little trill that the bird on his shoulder echoes, and taking up the cue, Miikaal overhead gives a long thunderous squawk.] Beautiful and... s-so friendly.

[Milen's head whips upwards when he hears the other bird, startled by its cry. He hadn't noticed it before... But the surprise passes quickly, focusing back on Jast.]

It is, isn't it? [There is some added excitement when he thinks about the people he's met, and the ones he will try to befriend. He's finally found some of the Stars, after all.

He drops his shoulders, only slightly awkward about it, licking the salt off the corner of his lips.] So, what have you been up to?

[Jast considers this, his eyes lingering up on Miikaal much longer.]

Mmm. Saying... hello? Lots.

I see. Making lots of friends, then? [Always a nice experience. Except when you get stuck with constantly angry roommates, he imagines. He can't help but get distracted by the target of Jast's attention again.]

Always.

[He points up at the bird.]

You and Miikaal, hmm. Should be friends.

[uponhiseye]

Is that his name? [He runs through his head repeatedly, contemplating. It has a strong ring to it.] Does he understand me?

Yes, yes! [Jast beams, tilting his head back to give a whistle. Come here, Miikaal.]

[ballofthunder]

[And he will be landing right on Milen's head. Haha.]

[uponhiseye]

[Oh! This might have been cooler if he weren't standing and placing his hands so awkwardly, like he's suddenly afraid any imbalance might throw the bird off. Feeling those claws on his head is ... weird, too.]

... Hi Miikaal. [Uhm. Tentatively:] I'm Milen.

[ballofthunder]

[Miikaal gives a pleased little squawk before nuzzling one of its heads against Milen's strangley placed hands.

...then the bird begins to nip after his fingers. It's all Fallen's fault, he plays this game with Miikaal and Jast has to reach up to intervene.]
