[The sun has just barely begun to rise on the city of Splendor, but Jast is already up, making his way down to the beach. A tall teenage boy in frayed clothes that hang too large on his body, his dark hair is messy and obviously hasn't been brushed, but he is all smiles as he walks along the beach in his bare feet. A large ballofthunder, which looks like a bird from its great height, circling overhead.
The boy is singing into his seal as he goes, a strange little tune with no real words but the musicality is most certainly there, his voice steady and clear, obviously a rather practiced singer from the way it dips high and low.
As he walks, he is joined by a flock of birds, little brown sparrows and large white gulls, black crows. He watches them closely as they come to land nearby, as they flutter amongst the rocks and soar off across the surf. In fact, a yellow songbird catches his attention, hovering above the water and he wades out into the waves, jeans heavy in the dampness, to hold his hand out to it.
He stops singing then, turning instead to chirping and whistling, which the the little songbird returns in happy warbles. Jast smiles, settling the little thing on his shoulder. Now that he is in the water, however, he turns his attention downwards, and begins to carry out similar little chirping conversations with the fish that have gathered around his legs.]
