In the months I’ve been in Splendor, I’ve been evaluating the behavior of this world. For instance, this place had a steady stream of new inhabitants once a month. There were exceptions, though that was when there was a spike in new voices over the Seals.

That order was disrupted. A month went by where there were no new arrivals.

Someone's been busy.

I've had a lot of time to think about things.

[Too much time, actually.]

That's never a good thing with you.

[Why does everyone say that--

oh wait...]

I suppose you'd rather me be content with the way things are?

[Both at home and here.]

Is intelligent design the default presumption?

They're only theories, as of right now. I've seen no evidence to prove either side.

What would constitute evidence?

Credible information. Why do you ask?

At least one person has remembered. But it's more common that they do not.

So like everything else, there are exceptions.

Aren't the exceptions what prove the rule?

True enough.

If I may ask, who was the one that remembered their time here?

What a fucking tool...

What makes you say that?

You're assuming that there's even a rhyme or fucking reason. Shit occurring doesn't always have to have purpose.

Maybe not. But in this case, the things that've happened in Splendor can't be merely coincidental.

Pardon, but I am one of the latest new arrivals. I would be curious to hear what you have discovered about this world and how it operates if you would not mind sharing what you have learned.

Of course. [He does need to build trust, after all.] First, tell me what you've learned. Or is it the minimum that most are told on arriving here?

Thank you.

[He thinks about this for a minute]

Only that we are brought here after obtaining a music box, the seal and a key to a dwelling are provided to us, and there are people here from many different places and times. [pauses and then adds] And that this places grants wishes, though I have not heard of the limits of it if there are any.

I have yet to talk to that many people, so I imagine this must be the minimum amount of information about this place.

You can't wish for people to be here, or for violence. There aren't any other known limits that I'm aware of.

Also, it was recently found that if more than one person was wishing for something, the outcome is more successful.

[He's just going to stop there for right now, to give Kaldur a minute to take it in.]
