[The weather's agreeable enough. Which means Asch is out scouting the city once again, looking for anything out-of-the-ordinary. Only this time he's taken a birds-eye-view approach
( Read more... )
[And then there's Claire. Probably visible on the horizon, but indistinguishable as being human until Asch gets maybe arm's length away. Claire was watching him approach as he stood on a rooftop, doing much the same thing, or maybe he'd slept up there. It's unclear.
At any rate, the second Asch recognizes Claire as somebody, he calls out -]
Bit of a funny looking guy to be sweeping chimneys!
[So it was a person... Asch's head turns in Claire's direction for a quick assessment. He's not too fond of that tone of voice, but since he's made no aggressive move, Asch continues walking, hands still loose at his sides. He's on guard, though.]
[And now Claire is following along, pretty friendly about the whole thing. That guy's carrying a sword... How cool! I wonder if he's a prince or somethin'?]
Then I guess we must both be enjoying a nice bit of exercise, right?
[Asch doesn't protest. He figures this guy will get bored and leave him alone sooner or later. If not, he can probably lose him easily enough... or so he thinks.]
[HELLO CREEPER ON THE ROOF. Natalia is calmly stepping out of the hospital door, she looks a bit worried though. She seems in thought for a few minutes, before she begins to walk down the street]
[Asch checks the time briefly. Okay, so this is quickly becoming less about information gathering and more about personal interest...]
[The redhead glances around for an easy way to get back down to ground level. Finally he spots a trellis not far from Natalia's path of travel. He lands some yards behind her, his boots hitting the ground with a dull, but audible, thud.]
[Natalia seems to be looking around. Where is that girl? She hasn't seen her anywhere. However her eyes do widen a little as she turns, seeing a familiar figure]
[It seems he's already been noticed. Asch steps away from the building's shadows, raising an eyebrow in silent question.]
[Asking "what are you doing here?" would be stupid, and asking "why are you hesitating?" would be doubly stupid - because it'd be the same as admitting he was spying on her the city.]
...It's just me. You don't have to look so surprised.
[Patrolling HIS kingdom, eh? And with Armor and a sword? Well sir, you've caught the attention of this Gold King; he wonders if your just a stupid faker.]
[Asch turns his head in the direction of the voice, hand hovering mere inches away from the hilt of his sword - but he doesn't make a move to draw it.]
I play no games.
[Though he's not exactly thrilled about being called a "peasant".]
[Asch's eyes narrow slightly before realizing that this stranger is referring to his weapon. There's something about this guy that's setting him on edge.]
Only an idiot would carry around a sword without being able to use it.
