A Distressing Change in Splendor
[Despite the recent influx of new people, life in Splendor had been carrying on as normal as life in Splendor can be. 'Had', of course, being the key word.
You may or may not have noticed a few subtle changes in Splendor over the past few days. It appears that certain jobs in Splendor just...haven't been getting done. It wasn't very noticeable at first, but things are beginning to pile up enough that some people may begin to notice.
Places in the city are beginning to get a little cluttered; books used by others don't seem to be finding the shelves on their own anymore in the library, instead being left to pile up on tables, and grocery stores don't seem to be restocking themselves as they should, the food simply sitting at the back of the store in the storage areas. In contrast, it appears some areas have been completely vacated. Small stores and shops stand empty, gathering dust inside from not being looked after for a few days, and even parts of the hospital now stand eerily quiet.
To top it all off, small things seem to be going wrong from neglect; expired light bulbs aren't being changed, a few sidewalks are icing over from lack of shoveling, and any other utility jobs just don't seem to be getting done.
But, the odd thing about all of this? These changes don't seem to be happening anywhere the natives of Splendor frequent. It would appear that finally, after all this time, and after all the complacency that has resulted from their hospitality, the Locals have finally become fed up with keeping up after outsiders.
And then of course, this strange notice appears on the notice board.
I certainly hope you all know how to live on your own, because it appears you won't have anyone else keeping up after you any longer.]
