My! You're baking cookies? [Fail cooking Princess is so intrigued..]

Pardon me were you perhaps planning on dressing as Santa Claus?

Wha!

[Startled. Oh! He didn't know that there was someone else in the kitchen with him. He instantly turns around to see Natalia.]

I-I... Uhm no. I wasn't. I was just trying to find out as much information about Christmas as possible because my master is now here at Splendor. We haven't celebrated Christmas before so I suppose you could say this will be a first.

[Oh, she reminds him of Ada. There's a slight blush that tints his cheeks a bit of a pink color and he looks away quickly. His eyes gravitate to the floor.]

Ah, th-that's okay really! You don't have to apologize.

[There's a slight pause.]

You can come read this book too if you want. It's very informative and gives a lot of details on Christmas and it's festivities.

[Ever since arriving at the castle Oz has been exploring for something to do. Gilbert had...well he'd been more mothering than ever, which really did make sense if his friend had been stuck here for so long. Even so, Oz was still himself and would wander here and there. At the moment, he'd been lured into the kitchen by the smell of freshly baked cookies, a place where Gilbert had spent a considerable amount of time lately. Oz didn't really understand much of the fuss about the holiday, but if there was one thing he wasn't complaining about it was the treats.

Gilbert had his back to him as he hovered over the counter, leaving the precious trays vulnerable and ready to attack. Quietly, Oz snuck over and began piling cookies into the makeshift carrier he made with the bottom of his shirt. So what if that meant it had become untucked? For cookies, sometimes there had to be sacrifices.]

[Oh yes, he's quite unaware of Oz's little ninja skills. He's continuing to read about Santa, Christmas lights, myths about the holiday, and all those things. But he does come to find out that his master has entered the kitchen eventually, because he turns around to check on the cookies. When he does, he spots the blonde, catching him red handed. He's about to scold him for eating the cookies, but then takes into mind that he baked him for the boy after all, so he can't be too mad. So he decides to scold him about something more relevant!]

O-Oz! You're going to end up burning your hands! Those cookies are still hot!

[And without a second thought, Gilbert retrieves a small plate from the cupboard and holds it out to him with a bit of a sigh.]

If you're going to take some, then use the plate instead of dirtying up your shirt.

Fine fine~ [Plate taken the cookies are dumped onto it and one is immediately shoved into his mouth. It was good, naturally. Gilbert was wonderful when it came to cooking and baking.]

They're really good Gil! [Praise from already cookie crumb speckled lips. His shirt isn't in a much better state either.] Isn't this a little excessive though?

Really?

[Blushes.]

Thanks. And I baked so much because I didn't know which ones you'd like the most. There's so many different recipes.

[THERE IS A KNOCK-KNOCK-KNOCKING AT THE DOOR. hopefully he can hear it from the kitchen! if not, there is always voice/video.]

[Upon hearing that knock on the door, he glances at the timer for the cookies. There's about ten minutes left. That's more than enough to answer the door and return before they burn. So this would be Gil taking off down the hall and towards the front double doors. He opens a door and oh hey there~]

Oh, Echo. Come in. Welcome to Arborn castle.

[Opens the door so she can come inside.]

[walks on in.]

Thank you for the invitation, Master Gilbert...

[she catches whiff of the cookies, and directs her attention towards the kitchen. she dare not comment on it though; it's really none of her business to ask. it's probably servants at work anyway.]

Don't mention it. I've been baking cookies for Oz and doing some research about Christmas.

[He gestures for her to follow him as he walks to the kitchen after he closes the door behind her.]

[ Anise so totally smells those cookies, Gil, and she definitely has to check it out.

So when she walks into the kitchen and sees the ridiculous amount of cookies set out on the table, she just has to rush over to them and go to grab at one. ]

Whoa! Look at all of these cookies!

[ Feel free to stop her if you like -- she would really like one, though. ]

[And he turns around upon hearing her enter.]

Ah, th-thats!

[He stops himself and glances at all of the cookies. Well, it wouldn't hurt if he allowed others to have one or two. He could always make more and there was an overwhelming amount of them already.]

That's alright, you can go a head and have some.

[ Oh, so he's letting her! That excites her and he said 'some' so that means she can take more than one -- she only takes three, though. If he lets her have more, she'd be more than happy to take more than just three (maybe she could sneak some when he's not looking, too).

Putting one of the cookies in her mouth, and holding the other two in her hands, she shuffles over to the book of Christmas recipes he's got open and looks at it.

Then she tries to speak with the cookie in her mouth, so it may be a bit hard to understand. ] Wha's 'dis foar?

[She reminds him of Oz in a way. Childlike demeanor and curiosity.]

I'm baking cookies for my master Oz. All of these are for him. You see, we've never celebrated Christmas before. Back in our world, there was a lot of horrible things going on, but now... Now everything is a lot different. More peaceful. And so I-I want to make this Christmas the best I can for him. Because he deserves it.

So, what is this Christmas? I see a lot of decorations and cookies, but there's something more, isn't there?

[A sigh and a nod.]

It's based on a historical religious day. The birth of Christ as Christians call it. And well, it's like a big birthday in a way. There's a lot more to it than that though. A-And people of other faiths have similar holidays.
