Anthem

the birds, they sang at the break of day
start again, I heard them say
don't dwell on what has passed away
or what is yet to be
...
ring the bells that still can ring
forget your perfect offering
there is a crack in everything
that's how the light gets in

YOU'RE ALIVE!

*squishes you*

Life is funny sometimes, with the twists and turns we end up taking. I never planned on spending a year in Chicago and half of one in Switzerland, but that's how it worked out. Now CT.

I hope you recover soon. How are you otherwise? Has been ages.

I miss you, sweetheart.
Don't worry about being bad at remembering to communicate with people, I'm pretty awful about it, too.

Life is a terribly funny thing, and it enjoys mocking our best-laid plans far too much.
You spent half a year in Switzerland? You must share stories of your travels with me, I need people to live vicariously through.

Illness aside, I'm doing pretty well. It's currently dominating most aspects of my life, but I have a wonderful best friend and a fantastic support system (that I really need to take advantage of more often than once in a blue moon) and a lovely car, and I'm well taken care of.
I miss college, though. Didn't ever think I'd say that.

How have you been, love?

Replying properly in an IM in a minute because I ramble. :) But your icon = love.

I love your rambles. <3
It might take me a bit to drum up a suitable reply. I loved reading that message, though - I could almost hear your voice and your inflection. Oh, I miss you.

I think this Alan icon is my favorite person-icon ever. Isn't it beautiful?

I've been doing my best to survive.
Getting a real job post-Master's degree has been the task I'm most determined to achieve. Hasn't quite worked out yet though, but I'm positive that it will.

I'm never going to argue with the blue guest appearances but the brown looks so great against your skin. I'm thinking another outlet for you will let you continue being that bit more private in what you share where and with whom.

I think you're very right on both counts.
I hope life's treating you well.

There are times that our plans are side-railed by the unexpected. Not an easy lesson to learn or accept. It is good to see you back.

Not an easy lesson to learn or accept at all, dear lady. I'm very thankful for the experiences I've had that have made it possible for me to accept this with at least a modicum of grace.
It's just the way life is, I'm afraid. Sometimes disappointing, sometimes miserable, sometimes joyous, usually unpredictable, always beautiful.

I've missed you.
