English 102 Paper One

I just finished up writing the first draft of my first paper.  It's analyzing the language used in Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried."  I had Sheerin proof read it and she quickly pointed out that two words that I used don't (and I'm paraphrasing (she actually put it in a nice way)) not academic sounding enough.  Now I know that the words "
