Yachiru quickly climbed to the roof after her encounter with Naoki, a little tired from yelling and fighting with the demon. Really, he shouldn't have hurt blondie in the first place

Yachiru stared at Riku, surprised and fascinated in a detached sort of way that the teen had actually shaken her that way.

"Ku-ri must really be hungry..."

The girl tilted her head, trying to remember how she got there. "I dunno. Was just walking around the neighborhood, so..." She paused, and a mischevious smile appeared on her face.

"Let's look for blondie!"

Even though they'd get more hungry in trying to find him, if Guy did have food, it would be worth it. If he didn't, well... she could always drown herself with juice.

Riku was in the midst of regaining his composure.
"Yes, I am... a little hugry."

But as the last glow of the sun left and the dark air crept closer, Riku pushed himself up to stand with stiff shoulders. Though food was tempting, he knew he couldn't let her be out this late. He had run into plenty of people that he wouldn't want to meet in the daylight, let alone hiding in the shadows.

"Look, I'm not that hugry," he forced himself to say though his growling stomach. "Why don't I walk you home?" Riku looked around the area, making sure no one else was around. But then he looked at the charming face below him. He smiled at her, holding out a hand to help her up. He couldn't explain why he felt so protective of her. Maybe it was because she seemed to repel the dark.

Irritated, Yachiru pushed herself up and tugged a lock of Riku's hair in reprimand. What did he think she was, stupid?

"No. We're looking for blondie, and that's that." She crossed her arms and nodded, as her word was the law and her tummy (and possibly Riku's) supported that rule. Besides, even if they were to go to Yachiru's home, they wouldn't get anywhere. The girl had been wandering around the place, and she didn't have a permanent place to sleep yet.

Yachiru looked at Riku expectantly, waiting for his agreement to look for the bar. And if he didn't agree, she knew she'd manage to get some sense into him.

He pulled his head back, not expecting her to grab his hair like that. Was she trying to be stubborn? "No," he said in a defiant voice much like hers. "You're going home. It's too dark for a girl like you to be staying out so late. Now tell me where you live."

He stood with his arms folded across his chest, standing noticably much taller than her.

The height issue was easily dealt with by jumping up and bopping Riku on the head with the hilt of her zanpakutou.

"It's always dark like this, and I've been walking around a whole lot!" Yachiru huffed, looking at Riku through narrowed eyes. "'sides, it's bad to walk around hungry. You won't be able to fight back properly."

"Hey!" he said rubbing his head. He had always wondered why she carried some sort of sword. He thought maybe it was a toy or something, but it felt real enough.

He looked down into her determined eyes. Normally, Riku wasn't one to back down but those burning eyes were so familiar. He sighed before frowning and patting her head. "We'll find blondie but you have to stick next to me, ok?"
